Default Storage Recommendation

Bynn's default data center is located in Ireland, hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS). This location provides optimal international connectivity and performance characteristics, making it the recommended choice for balanced speed, reliability, and regulatory compliance for most organizations.

The Ireland data center offers several advantages:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Full GDPR compliance for European data protection requirements
  • International Connectivity: Optimal network paths to major global regions
  • Infrastructure Reliability: Enterprise-grade AWS infrastructure with high availability

Unless specific regulatory requirements mandate alternative storage locations, organizations are strongly recommended to maintain the default Ireland setting for optimal platform performance and reliability.

Data Center Migration Policy

Data center changes apply exclusively to newly created data following the configuration change. Existing data remains in its current storage location and continues to be accessible without service interruption or performance degradation.

This approach ensures:

  • Service Continuity: No disruption to ongoing verification processes
  • Data Integrity: Existing data remains in its original, verified location
  • Gradual Migration: Natural data distribution as new verifications are processed
  • Compliance Maintenance: Historical data remains compliant with original storage decisions

URL Inspection Method

The most straightforward verification method involves inspecting the URLs of stored identity document images. Document URLs follow a consistent format that includes the storage region identifier:

In this example:

  • bynn-data-ie indicates the Bynn Ireland storage bucket
  • s3.eu-west-1 specifies the AWS Europe (Ireland) region

Organizations can cross-reference region codes with Amazon's official Global Infrastructure documentation to verify precise data center locations. Common region codes include:
